We found that there’s a little something for everyone going on in Charlotte next month!
February might not be the time of the year when the weather in Charlotte, NC is the best, but the truth is that this month is full of interesting events and entertainment. We did a little research and found that there is really something for everything! So get out and explore the great city of Charlotte with one the following events.

33rd Showcase of Woodcarvings

Those who are interested in unique forms of art will definitely want to be in Charlotte this February. On Feb 20- 21, Marion Diehl Recreation Center will be the place where more than 120 carvers from 15 states will compete to win the first place. This is by far, the largest event and competition dedicated to woodcarving in the Southeast. Visitors will be able to get free carving lessons and buy carvings.

2016 CIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament

For those who didn’t know, the CIAA (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) was formed in 1912. Historically Black Colleges and Universities from the east coast are members of this association and this February the audience can enjoy the basketball tournament organized by CIAA. The tournament lasts for 4 days – 02/23 to 02/27.

Battle of the Bulge WWII Living History Event

People who love history will certainly want to visit this event that will be held on Historic Latta Plantation this February. For a small fee they can watch re-enactors from allied and axis forces demonstrating one of the most important battles during the World War II – the snowy Battle of the Bulge.

Dance Theatre of Harlem: 40 years of firsts

This incredible exhibition will take place in the center of the city this February. The exhibition will be focused on the unique costumes, video excerpts and set pieces of one of the most popular art companies who were fighting prejudice with their amazing talent.

For the Love of Chocolate and Wine

Now here’s an event that will satisfy all the gourmands in Charlotte. It is organized by the Raffaldini Vineyards and Winery and few other vineyards. The event will be held on Valentine’s Day which means that visitors can use it as an ideal Valentine’s Day getaway. Only visitors above the age of 21 are allowed to enter this event.

Frigid 5K Run and plunge

Charlotte is a place where you can get active. If you are interested in boosting your adrenaline levels try the Frigid 5 K. This is actually a run that is 5 kilometers long and takes place on the new Greenway Trail.

Funny Bus

Teens and adults can also enjoy the tours that go through some of the most famous neighborhoods and areas in Charlotte. The tour guide will make you laugh while you learn more about the history of this incredible city.
